The MHS community bid a tearful farewell to our Valencian guests this afternoon at Logan airport. Students and their families were on hand as their Spanish “brothers and sisters”, and friends boarded their plane for home. The generosity and hospitality shown by the Melrose parents and school committee is surely something the students, Spanish and American alike, will carry with them. Truly bridges were formed through this experience that made the world a little smaller. Luckily, these students can remain in contact with each other through Skype, email, and other social media until they reconnect on the other side of the Atlantic in February. Thank you to everyone who participated to make this trip a success, and a special thank you to Sra. Dagger-Cain for organizing the exchange.
