In conducting public hearings required by law and others it deems advisable, the Committee will:
- Give due and public notice in line with statutory requirements and seek to publicize the meeting in all local media.
- Make available printed information on the topic of the hearing.
- Give all persons an equal opportunity to be heard in accordance with the Committee’s policy.
The Chairman will preside at the hearing.
At the beginning of the meeting, statements and supporting information will be presented by the Committee or designee. At that time, the Chairman will outline the procedure to be followed regarding questions, remarks, rebuttals, time limitations as well as other rules that must be followed to give all who wish to speak an opportunity to be heard.
