BID: Member Compensation and Expenses

The Board of Aldermen may, by ordinance, establish an annual salary for Committee members. No vote increasing the salary of members will be effective unless adopted during the first 18 months of the term for which members are elected and unless it takes effect following the next municipal election. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, members elected or appointed to the Committee will not be eligible to participate in the city’s group health or life insurance programs.

Each Committee member may apply for reimbursement of supplies expenses relevant to Committee duties, not to exceed $30 each fiscal year. The amount will be prorated should a member serve for less than one year.
