JICA: Student Dress Code

The Committee believes that students’ wearing of appropriate attire contributes to a positive, productive school environment. The rights and responsibility for the dress and appearance of students will rest with individual students and parents, provided that attire is in keeping with reasonable standards of health, safety, and cleanliness and so as not to detract from the educational process. The administration is authorized to take appropriate action in instances where individual dress does not meet the stated requirements.

Student, faculty, or parent groups may recommend appropriate dress for school or special occasions, meaning that students will not be prevented from attending school or a school function, or otherwise be discriminated against, as long as their dress and appearance meet the requirements set forth above.
