The Bridge

bridgeadsmThe Bridge: A School/Community Partnership is a non-profit organization that recruits, screens, trains, and places volunteers in the Melrose Public Schools.

In response to requests from teachers and administrators, volunteers are used to support, augment and enhance programs in the five elementary schools, the middle school and high school. Bridge volunteers are parents, retirees, grandparents, professionals, people from the business community, government employees, high school, and college students.

Are you someone who is reliable and friendly? Do you enjoy being with young people? Are you interested in education? Could you give some time, even a small amount, to students who are eager to learn? The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership offers you a wonderful opportunity to become a Melrose Public School volunteer.

The 17th Annual Melrose Adult Trivia Bee will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Memorial Hall at 7pm.  As you know, the Trivia Bee is one of the most widely anticipated events in Melrose.  The evening generates excitement throughout the City with more than forty competing trivia teams, television coverage, and hundreds of spectators.  Participants represent a variety of community agencies, businesses and organizations including: school PTOs, Churches and Synagogues, local politicians, local newspapers, Real Estate offices, the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, the Public Library, the Housing Authority, local gyms, insurance agencies, and family groups.   For more information please contact Jennifer McAllister, Coordinator of Volunteers at 781-979-2299 or [email protected].

Below you will find online registration forms for new volunteers and previously registered volunteers.  Once your registration is processed you will be added to the volunteer list and a volunteer badge will be sent to the school(s) you plan to volunteer.  For more information please contact Jennifer McAllister, Coordinator of Volunteers at 781-979-2299 or [email protected].

*PLEASE NOTE: All new volunteers must also complete The CORI Request Form (bright pink paper). That form must be returned in person with a government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. It can be returned to the secretary at any Melrose Public School or to the volunteer office of the Bridge at MVMMS.

The Bridge volunteer office is open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 1pm or by appointment.
